December 2013. Lewis from Australia asked me to publish his recent experience with PowerBasic.
«R.I.P. PowerBASIC Inc Sadly Bob ZALE wrote his last ever code in November 2012. Sader still is the fact that his company has apparently ceased all operations after less than 2 years of being ZALE-free.
I purchased software in mid-2013 and am yet to receive the product (it's now the end of December). Initial responses to my e-mails asked for more time due to various issues surrounding the company. For the last 3-4 months no e-mails have been answered (sales and support addresses have been tried to no avail). At one stage the company website was also down but it is 'up' currently which makes little sense to me given the lack of any real activity by the company. This means that nobody should contemplate starting out with PowerBASIC if they are not already committed to the product and those that have invested significant time in Bob's various projects (spanning decades) need to be aware that they now have orphaned software on their hands and no product further developments will be forthcoming.
